‘Mashed’ Identity

May, 2008 – BBC

The 2008 ‘Mashed’ conference (formally called ‘Hack Day’) in London required a brand to reflect the young, funky, hacked / mashed, anti-corporate weekend event.

The event is aimed at and caters to designers, developers and hardware geeks. Speakers from the development world demonstrate how to build things and how to use the systems that will be available through-out the weekend – including a full broadcast TV station with the ability to build and hack interactive applications.

A funky and textured typeface was emphasized by the use of a striking black, white and silverly color palette to create a solid yet playful logo.
